REIKI
Reiki is a spiritual healing practice that originated in Japan in the early 20th century.
The term “Reiki”; is derived from two Japanese words: “Rei” meaning universal or spiritual, and “Ki”, meaning life force energy.
Together, Reiki translates to “universal life energy”.
What is Reiki Healing?
Reiki healing is based on the idea that a universal energy flows through all living things and can be harnessed to promote physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.
Practitioners believe that disruptions or blockages in this energy flow can lead to stress, illness, and emotional distress. Reiki aims to restore balance and encourage healing.
How It Works
The practice of Reiki involves the trained practitioner placing their hands gently on or just above the recipient’s body, allowing the energy to flow through them into the recipient.
Reiki is a non-invasive and safe healing technique that can be used to address physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual imbalances. Practitioners use their intention and focus to direct energy to areas of need, allowing the recipient’s body to heal itself.
Who Can Practice Reiki?
Anyone can learn Reiki, typically through training and attunements provided by a Reiki Master. There are three levels of Reiki training, Levels I, II, III or Master. Gayla has completed all three levels of training.
Is Reiki Safe?
Yes, Reiki is considered safe and non-invasive. It complements traditional medical treatments and is often used alongside therapies like massage, acupuncture, or psychotherapy. However, it is not a substitute for professional medical care.
